The guide below is designed to help you complete the most common questions people make mistakes
on in the Indian visa application. It is important to understand that India is very particular about the
application being completed correctly. Any incorrect or incomplete answers WILL cause a delay in
processing.
We know this is a lot of reading, but you dont want to get this wrong. If this seems too much for you
contact us and request Concierge Service and we can take care of it for you.
The actual visa application is completed online via the Indian government application web site then
printed and signed. Once the application is printed no changes can be made, so be sure to follow the
guide to ensure you do not have to redo the application. If you or TVP find any mistakes after the
application is submitted, you will need to complete the application again from scratch.
BE AWARE: You have approximately 30 minutes in total and about 10 minutes per page to complete the
application from start to finish. If you take too long the application will expire and you will be forced to
start over. If the application becomes unresponsive, then your application has timed out and you must
start over. The system will provide you a Temporary Application ID on the second page which you can
write down in hopes that if you lose your application you can pick up where you left off, however this
feature does not work all the time. Review this guide, make sure to have your passport, travel itinerary
and hotel details (tourists) or business contact details (business).
After clicking the link to the application, you will click the orange Regular Visa Application button:
Once the application begins, you will be asked to complete a series of questions. On the following page
is a screen shot and below that you will find a list of answers for these questions.

Children’s Signatures
If child is old enough to sign their name (generally 10 years old and above), the child signs their name in
the signature box in the upper right of page one of the completed, printed application. On page two of
the completed, printed application the mother and the father sign in the signature area.
If child is NOT old enough to sign their name (generally less than 10 years old), the child provides a
thumb print in the signature box in the upper right of page one of the completed application. On page
two of the completed, printed application the mother and the father sign in the signature area.
In order to provide a thumbprint, you may either use a proper fingerprint ink pad or scribble on a piece
of paper with a pencil and roll the finger in the graphite, rub a felt tip pen on the child's finger or use
other ink source (it is recommended that permanent marker is avoided for both the obvious reason as
well as the toxic nature of permanent ink).
Notarizations
The above step regarding signatures must be done in the presence of, and sealed by, a public notary.
Additional Documents
Although child's application may be submit along with other family members, when submitted to an
embassy or consulate, applications are treated individually. Therefore, children's applications must be
accompanied by each of the following:
Color copies of parent’s valid passports - there are no exceptions to this regulation. If either or
both parents do not have valid passports, we cannot process the application request. If either,
or both, parents are not US citizens, include copies of passports and copies of US visa or
permanent resident card (Green card).
Color copies of parent’s valid driver’s license or state ID - there are no exceptions to this
regulation. If either or both parents do not have valid ID, we cannot process the application
request.
A copy of the child's birth certificate (not the original document) and notarized translation if
applicable
